After 18 years as a solicitor working in private practice and in-house in the legal departments of top-tier international investment banks, I realised that I had lost my mojo – that sense of energy and purpose that puts a spring in our steps when we get out of bed in the morning. A lengthy promotion process to become Managing Director forced me to spend time thinking about what I really wanted out of my career, and life in general.
I realised that what I was about – and perhaps always had been, but never taken the time to notice – was bringing the best out in people. Once this clarity of purpose had struck forcefully, I realised that I needed to spend all my time fulfilling this purpose.
So, I set up my own consultancy to provide coaching, consulting, training and facilitation services to my clients. I decided to focus on the legal sector – both in-house and private practice, because this is the sector that I know best. And, my view is that the unique pressures of being a lawyer in today’s ever-changing complex world, means that lawyers need as much support as they can get!
Working with me will not necessarily result in leaving the law! Sometimes, we only need the smallest of adjustments to reconnect or get back on track. However, if you are looking to renew your mojo, find a sense of direction or plan for that key promotion, then I am committed to supporting you.
My deep experience of working both in private practice and in-house means that I am also well-placed to provide your organisation with strategic advice – from tips on managing your teams to designing development programmes to insights into what clients really want.
